The Stalking Tent

Discover the heart of hill tradition at the Stalking Tent, where working animals and time-honoured skills take centre stage. Meet the Tallisker Highland Hill Pony, a remarkable working pony used for bringing deer carcasses off the rugged hills – a true testament to the strength and heritage of the Highlands. Joining us inside the tent is Joe Pettigrew with his small but mighty Ambershine Teckels, showcasing these spirited dogs and their role in deer stalking.

Just outside, don’t miss Teckel Mania – a lively series of fun activities for all Teckels and Dachshunds. Whether you’re a fan or a proud owner, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

BASC

Join BASC in the Deer Zone for a series of expert talks and demos covering all things deer stalking. Learn about deer extraction techniques, lymph node identification, using thermal drones, effective knife sharpening, thermal imaging gear, and the art of roe buck calling.

Teckel Mania

See these small but mighty tracking and hunting powerhouses at Teckel Mania. We can’t wait to welcome these wire-haired dachshunds to The National Shooting Show, celebrating their spirited personalities and their role in the countryside. Talisker Highland Ponies

At the National Shooting Show, Talisker Highland Ponies will be showcasing their traditional role in deer stalking and hunting. Known for their strength, calm demeanour, and sure-footedness, these ponies are invaluable for navigating rugged terrain and transporting harvested deer from the field. Visitors to the show can see these majestic ponies up close, learn about their historical importance, and appreciate their enduring relevance in modern hunting practices. The display highlights their bond with handlers, their adaptability, and their role in preserving sustainable hunting traditions.

Artemis Deerstalking

Artemis Deerstalking is a group dedicated to giving women opportunities and confidence in deerstalking. The group is for ladies to begin their journey into deer stalking and also to support and encourage ladies who already stalk on all levels. The group includes very valued professionals within the industry, whose help, support and knowledge is invaluable. Deer Butchery

Always a popular and fascinating highlight of the show, offering visitors a chance to learn about the art and skill involved in processing venison from field to table. Expert demonstrations showcase techniques for breaking down a deer carcass efficiently and ethically, emphasising the importance of minimising waste and preserving meat quality. Game and Flames

Game and Flames was founded in 2016 by experienced hunter, fisherman, and chef Cai Ap Bryn. Recognising a growing demand for wood-fired catering, Cai developed a unique approach that transforms traditional event dining into an unforgettable experience. At the heart of Game and Flames is a talented team of coordinators and chefs. Visit Game and Flames in The Deer Zone to see the team in action and discover how to bring wild food to life.

UKDTR

At The Deer Zone you will find UKDTR (UK Deer Tracking Organisation). This is a non-profit organisation whose sole aim is to provide a free service to assist deer managers to track, locate and (if required) despatch wounded deer.
